The Hebron Leather & Shoe Cluster
and the Palestinian Federation
of Leather Industries concluded
the training of export experts
with the participation of 6 companies
from the footwear
and leather sector.
Which was followed
by a meeting of the Board of Directors
of the Federation
and the management of the Palestinian
Trade Center to discuss ways
and mechanisms
to promote the exports
of the footwear sector
and enter new markets .
During the ceremony,
the President of the Palestinian
Leather Industries Federation,
Mr. Amer Arafa, received
the Jordanian
Ambassador Issam Al-Bdour,
the President of the Federation
of Chambers
of Commerce,
Mr. Abdo Idris,
and the accompanying delegation,
and they toured
the Center for the Development of Shoes
and Leather Products
They discussed
the obstacles
to exporting
to Jordan
and opportunities
to promote shoe exports
to the Jordanian
market,
and His Excellency
the Ambassador expressed
his admiration for the efforts
made and achievements
made in order to promote and develop the Palestinian
shoe and leather industry and congratulated
them on that.
Mr. Abdo Idris
also stressed the importance of integration
between institutions
in order to keep pace with the development and support of the footwear
and leather sector,
which was considered
one of the most important industrial sectors
in Palestine.
Mr. Amer Arafa opened
the opening ceremony by welcoming the guests
and stressed the importance of continuing
work to strengthen the resilience
of the shoe industry despite all the circumstances it is going
through ,
He pointed to the importance of continuous work towards increasing
shoe exports
and access to global markets,
developing the performance of companies
and raising
their export capacity.
Mr. Mahmoud Abu Amira
from Global Communities
Foundation stressed that this training is one of the steps
that the Foundation is working on with the private sector
in general and the footwear sector
in particular,
with the aim of increasing
the competitiveness
of Palestinian companies locally
and globally.
Mrs. Rawaa Jaber,
Director General of the Paltrade
Center,
pointed out that the main goal of the center is to reach Palestinian products
to international markets
and increase the share of Palestinian exports globally,
and that they are ready to cooperate and work with the shoes
and leather sector
in order to achieve this goal through all the services
provided by Paltrade.
Mr. Noureddine Al-Qadi,
Director of the Hebron Chamber
of Commerce and Industry, stated
that the Chamber
is ready to provide all possible services
to cooperate with all relevant authorities
in order to increase exports
of Palestinian products.
Finally, certificates
were distributed
to the attendees
and confirmed
that there will be a plan that supports companies
that participated
in the training in export and access to new markets.
It is worth mentioning
that this training comes
within the cooperation between the project to develop the competitiveness
of small and medium enterprises
in Palestine, funded
by the Swedish Agency for Development and International Cooperation (SIDA)
and implemented
by the International Communities
Foundation and the Cluster for the Footwear
and Leather Industry in Hebron - Hebron -
in order to support the footwear
and leather sector.
